  1. Bravo! Your video podcasts are entertaining and full of useful content. Your work will help thousands of Emergency Physicians and Paramedics improve their abilities not to mention all of the patients who will benefit. You should consider including a donate button because I believe that many providers would like to support your efforts.

    Mike,
How did you sit and pass the American Society of Echocardiography test? Outside of your fellowship what did you do to prepare for the test? Ultrasound and more importantly, echocardiography seems to be more of my passion currently, I was wondering if you could share your path? I’m wondering if I should take the same journey? How long did it take you to prepare for the test etc…

      John,
I became interested in Echo inresidency and did a month of echo with an intensivist here in SLC. After that I attended a perioperative echo course that some anesthesia guys put on here. I also read echos with at the VA. beyond that I bought a bunch of books, read a bunch of echos and took an online review course and attended a review course in boston that ASE puts on. All in all it was butt-ton of work and without the freetime of a fellowship in ultrasound I don’t think I would have pulled it off. Let me know if you want more specifics, but it comes down to basics- a lot of studying- medical school level studying……..
      Mike
